At End2End Events, we absolutely love celebrating diversity and planning events that connect people from all backgrounds and walks of life. So you can imagine how excited we’ve been with all the cultural events happening lately between Canberra and Melbourne!
In addition to the recent Multicultural Festival in Canberra and the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo in Melbourne, End2End Events took the opportunity to celebrate amazing women in business on International Women’s Day.
We’re also buzzing about Cultural Diversity Week, which will be held in Victoria from 17-25 March 2018. All of these events recognise something that is very close to our hearts: using events to bridge gaps between people from different cultural backgrounds and allowing them to connect on a personal level and form lifelong friendships.
International Women’s Day Photo Shoot
Celebrated globally on March 8 this year, International Women’s Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Wanting to recognise the beautiful women we know that are kicking some major goals in business, End2End Events put on a fun photo shoot at AHC Studios.
In true End2End style, we enjoyed some cultural tea and a yummy dessert station highlighting some different cultural desserts, which included:
- Australian Grain Bites
- American Cinnamon Rolls
- Canadian Brownies
- French Macarons
- Belgian Sea Salt Caramel
- Arabian Dates and Nuts
- German Choc Caramel Pretzels
We all came wearing our favourite cultural outfits and relished in an afternoon of great conversation, lots of laughter, inspiring stories, great food and drink and much more.
It was our tribute to celebrating International Women’s Day, and our love for diversity in multicultural Australia.
We were also grateful to be featured on RiotACT – both in a one-on-one interview with local journalist Nina Gbor, and a write up featuring some great pics from various end2end events. You can read it here: End2End – Connecting Canberra over Magical Memorable Events.
Preparing for Cultural Diversity Week
Cultural Diversity Week is run each year in Victoria and is one of Australia’s largest events to recognise and celebrate cultural diversity.
This year’s theme is ‘Proud to Belong’, with the week-long celebration coinciding with the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, and Harmony Day on March 21.
There are literally hundreds of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy, such as:
- Turkish Pazar Festival
- Asian grocery exhibition
- Polish and Friends Diversity Picnic
- Croydon Multicultural Festival
- Jewish Street Festival
- St Patrick’s Family Fun Day
- Harmony Feast
- So much more!
In essence, Cultural Diversity Week is about sharing stories, which we all know to be a fantastic way to get to know one another and break down barriers. If you’re interested in finding out a little bit more about my story, I recently wrote an article for Belonging Mag which you can check-out.
To everyone, from every culture, we hope you are enjoying the cultural celebrations happening throughout March as much as we are – be sure to get out there and meet the diverse people who help make Australia we know today so culturally and globally rich.
And if you’re keen to demonstrate your commitment to diversity and host an inclusive corporate event in Melbourne or Canberra (in March, or anytime throughout the year!)
