Springpreneur inspires local entrepreneurs to connect
A big thank you to everyone who attended our seasonal networking event Springpreneur 2016!
Springpreneur was held on Thursday 29th September, and we were joined by an enthusiastic and friendly group of local business owners and entrepreneurs…all dressed in retro!
The event, which was held in the Front Room at the National Film and Sound Archives, played on our love of the 1970s and 80s. Guests came sporting funky outfits, big hair and loads of colours, while we chowed down on the amazing food supplied by local catering company Top Gun Catering.
Most of us agreed that the highlights of the night were the fun games and insightful talks. We heard from local entrepreneur Dan Sanguineti from Sanguineti Media who specialise in film and video production and Dr Glenn Dickens who created an amazing piece of technology that is used within Dolby headsets. Our MC Joe Gleeson from local radio FM 104.7 was outstanding; keeping everything running smoothly that we could hardly believe it when it was time to say goodbye.
Our most popular game saw guests break off into groups to sing (very loudly!) the chorus of a popular 80s track which was lots of fun and got people out of their comfort zone and connecting with others they wouldn’t normally connect with through a simple team- building activity.
We also laughed a lot through a couple of highly competitive game of charades.
It was a great evening with a fantastic vibe, and after all of the wonderful feedback, our commitment to creating networking events that are fun and personable instead of stuffy and awkward is stronger than ever!
With such a great night behind us, we are so excited to announce our next seasonal Solopreneur event: Summerpreneur 2016.
Summerpreneur will be held at the National Arboretum on the 1st of December 2016.
This fusion networking event will offer an amazing night out and a unique opportunity to meet like-minded individuals running businesses in an array of industries across Canberra.
There’ll be lots of games and activities, amazing food from the Arboretum’s Catering company Ginger Catering, and a few cheeky surprises. Hint: dress is casual, so don’t wear heels!
Tickets are limited this time so please get in early to secure your place.
