An enthusiastic group of Canberra’s Solopreneurs gathered at Old Parliament House on 1 June 2016 to unlock an evening of games and networking amidst the vintage beauty of Members Bar.
Miss Fisher was nowhere to be found and from there, the mystery only deepened…
The Winter Solopreneur kicked off on the first of June 2016 with Canberra’s Solo-entrepreneurs invited to connect and enjoy the second entrepreneurial event hosted by end2end events.
The event was hosted at Old Parliament House’s ever popular vintage Members Bar extending to Members Dining Room 3 and The Secretariat area adjacent to the Bar. Having three Different break-out areas designed for Solopreneurs to interact, meant that guests had the option to choose which activity and which area they wanted to enjoy most, go round and chat with other entrepreneurs enjoying the same activities. This interactive method is a great icebreaker activity for entrepreneurs to get to know each other better and built lasting connections.
Solopreneurs were Welcomed to a Red Carpet entrance which led to The Games lounge. Popular Miss Fisher themed 1920s games of Cluedo and cards meant a murder mystery would be solved throughout the night! A game of chess and backgammon reminiscent of the era set the scene for this classic games area.
A Joint collaborative chocolate station designed by end2end events featuring a selection of Artisan chocolate truffles from Enigma Fine Chocolates, desserts by Canberra’s leading dessert designer – Pip & Lou, and a chocolate fountain by Restaurant Associates – Old Parliament House’s in-house caterers meant that solo-entrepreneurs not only interacted at the event but collaborated to create a unique station that was enjoyed by all entrepreneurs at the event.
Chilling- out amidst the vintage beauty of Members Bar was made even more enticing with specialized cocktails sharing the story of the ever-popular Menzies Martini and Miss Fisher’s mulled wine!
Miss Fisher’s Dressing Room experience – an end2end designer photo studio experience in collaboration with Another Happy Customer – Corporate Photography and Every Cloud Productions was a studio dress-up haven encouraging role-play with props inspired from Miss Fisher herself. Vintage Fur Stools, vintage headwear and a variety of dress-up bling and custom hand-painted Miss Fisher pistols all brought this experience to life. A Behind the scenes clip of Miss Fisher at work meant entrepreneurs could get an insight into what Miss Fisher was all about! This 1920s Melbourne based series was re-introduced to The Canberra crowds in a fun an interactive way. A signature look bought to life by end2end events.
A designed test of knowledge – featuring a themed Old Parliament House quiz testing attendees knowledge of the amazing heritage venue where the event was taking place, along with a presentation highlighting the collaboration with Christina Sanchez of Back Yourself Coaching encouraging goal setting, more networking and less hibernating in winter was a great way to entertain and involve entrepreneurs this Winter- Warming Networking night.
Wrapping up with business card draw, with themed prizes given to winners of The Test of knowledge quiz and winner of Business card draw.
Dining, wining, networking all made better with In 2 Deep Jazz Duo Michael Dooley and Rachel Thorne 1920s inspired repertoire played on heritage piano.
While there was no real mystery in being able to provide such an immersive experience, Miss Fisher was still nowhere to be found by the end of the evening but she was definitely a part of everyone who attended!
