“I Love it when Women Love Themselves, I Love it when Women are learning to Love Themselves, I love it when Women are inspiring Other Women to Love Themselves “

In a night dedicated to female empowerment and recognising the achievements of Canberra’s Women in Business. The 11th Annual Canberra Women in Business Awards Night kicked off on 8 November 2018 at one of Canberra’s Unique event venues Pialligo Estate and I was amongst one of The finalists for ‘The CWB Mentor of The Year Award ‘

Each year The CWB Annual Gala Awards recognizes and rewards the valuable contributions and outstanding achievements of The ACT Business women. The event is attended by members of the ACT and Federal government, the media and established Canberra business community.

The 2018 Canberra Women in Business Awards was a great opportunity to connect with some inspiring business women, foster some meaningful connections whilst celebrating The Achievements of Canberra’s diverse Women in Business. Amongst the Awards presented on The Night, was Business Woman of The Year Award, Micro Business of The Year Award, Mentor of The Year Award, Innovation Business Award, Small Business of The Year Award, Young Business Woman Award, Public Sector Woman of The Year Award and IML Leader of The Year Award.

Amongst my favourite event moments was being presented with ‘CWB Mentor of The Year – Finalist Award’ by ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr which serves as a good memoire of my time in Canberra.

And whilst I did not win The Title of ‘CWB Mentor of The Year’ award this year. I know I am still a winner because I was strong enough to recognize my achievements over the past 4 years in business and I was brave enough to speak up about what I believe in. I enjoyed celebrating the night with some of the diverse girls I have mentored over the years at End2End Events in Canberra and who I  took the liberty of presenting each with ‘ A Certificate of Appreciation’ of their time at End2End Events, cause it is during the time I was mentoring these girls to see sometimes past their own disability and recognise their ability that I learned so much about myself and my capability as a mentor and a leader.

Congratulations to Jen Wittwer from Steorra Consulting for receiving ‘Mentor of The Year Award’ and to All other Award category finalists and winners. To find out more about The Finalists for each category, contact Canberra Women in Business or check this link

Thank you also to The Canberra Women in Business Event Team for creating an amazing event to recognize the achievements of some of Canberra’s best Women in Business.

This is just the start of many more recognitions as a diverse woman in business. Where I am sure I will be empowering many more culturally diverse women to ‘Stand up, Speak up and Steer with confidence.’
